Headmaster's Welcome
Mr Davey

Redcourt - St Anselm's is a day preparatory school catering for boys and girls aged 3 - 11 years. It is an inclusive school welcoming all children of all abilities. There is no formal entrance examination. Prospective pupils are invited into Redcourt for a day's visit. During the day, Staff will assess the level at which the visiting child is currently working.

Our aim is to provide each and every child with a sound academic education in an environment which is explicitly Christian and where discipline and care go hand in hand. We endeavour to be aware of each child as an individual and we seek to encourage the development of the whole person.

The school operates in an open and friendly manner, becoming something of a second home for our pupils.

The core national curriculum subjects plus RE, History, Geography, Art and Design Technology, PE and Games, Music, ICT and French/Spanish form the basis of what is taught. Children are prepared for the eleven plus and entrance examinations of grammar and selective independent schools. Most children transfer to Grammar Schools.

We have a system for monitoring classroom provision. The school is well versed in its own improvement planning and is committed to the professional and personal development of all its staff. The Headmaster is in membership of The Catholic Independent Schools Conference, the Association of Junior Independent Schools and the Independent Schools Association.
